We are recruiting!

Post: Trainer, facilitator and resource creator

We are excited to be recruiting a new member for our co-op. We are looking for someone who has experience of campaigning for social and ecological justice as part of a grassroots group. The role involves designing and delivering training and facilitation and creating resources for campaigns and co-operatives. Topics we cover include consensus decision making, direct action, anti-hierarchical organising and campaign strategy.

Our aims are to help groups increase their skills, strategy and empowerment to confront injustice, and to organise in ways that put our core values of equality, freedom and solidarity into practice.

It is essential that a new member is willing and able to play a role in the running of our workers’ co-op itself. That means taking part in collective decision making and strategic planning for the co-op; being open, honest and supportive with other co-op members; being reliable; and taking your fair share of the many administrative responsibilities!

The initial contract covers the period of your probation, but if it works out, we are looking for someone who wants to stay with us long term.

Application deadline

Please ensure that your application reaches us by 9am, 26th October, 2020.

Initially 12 months probation. If you pass probation, we will offer full membership of the co-op, which is a permanent position.

£15,000 per year for an average of 22.5 hours per week, before deductions for tax and National Insurance. (This is equivalent to £25,000 per year if you worked a 37.5 hour week, or £12.82 per hour).

Flexible hours

Our hours fluctuate, and include some work at evenings and weekends. After covid, the job will also include travel by public transport and overnight stays.

We are based in an office in Lancaster. We will negotiate to agree 2 days a week when we will all be in our office together during ‘core’ hours. During the pandemic, we are working online.
